Will you send me a video of any car that I would like more information about? Certainly! At Acura of Westchester, we are big fans of using video to enhance our customer's experience, whether it's for sales or service purposes. If you're interested in learning more about a particular vehicle, you can request a video walk-around from any of our Sales and Leasing consultants. Alternatively, you can give us a call at (914) 290-4671 and let us know which car you're interested in, and we'll send you the video as soon as possible.

Can a car be brought to me for a test drive? Certainly! We understand that visiting the dealership for a test drive may not always be feasible, so we offer the option of bringing the car to you instead. While there may be some exclusions based on your location, we'll do our best to accommodate your request and make the test drive process as easy as possible.

New Car Sales FAQ

Can I lease a new car from Acura of Westchester? Definitely! A significant majority of our new car customers at Acura of Westchester opt for leasing, with nearly 80% choosing this option. What is ASPEC? Acura's A-Spec option is a package level that's offered on ILX, TLX, RDX, and MDX models, providing a range of sporty interior and exterior enhancements. These may include select paint colors, red interior seats, sporty wheel and body trim options, and other features. Depending on the model, the A-Spec package may also include upgraded amenities like cooled seats. 

What is Type S? Acura's Type-S models offer an elevated level of premium sport interior and exterior options, building upon the A-Spec package. However, Type-S takes things further by providing enhanced performance options, including upgraded engines in addition to the premium interior and exterior features. The Type-S package was first introduced on the TL Type-S model in 2000 and was last available in 2008. It has since made its comeback in model years 2021, 2022, and 2023

What is the difference between FWD and AWD, and what is SH-AWD? The abbreviation FWD stands for Front Wheel Drive, indicating that power is directed to the front wheels of the vehicle. In contrast, AWD stands for All Wheel Drive, where power is delivered to all wheels. Acura's SH-AWD system, on the other hand, sets itself apart from conventional AWD systems through its integration of a unique electromagnetic clutch mechanism for the rear wheels. This system is under electronic control, allowing SH-AWD to modify torque distribution to the rear wheels at all times. Acura's SH-AWD system provides superior traction and grip, as well as improved handling and stability on all types of roads and in any weather conditions.

Do Acuras have Apple Car Play and Android Auto? Certainly! All new Acura models now come equipped with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Alexa integration as standard features.

How often should I get an oil change?

Acura vehicles are equipped with Maintenance Minder™ that measures driving style and road conditions to notify the owner when scheduled maintenance is due. When the wrench icon appears, it indicates that it's time for Acura Genuine Service. However, the frequency of oil changes typically ranges from 3000-7000 miles depending on the owner's driving habits.

What kind of oil do you use at Acura of Westchester? At Acura of Westchester, we exclusively use Full Synthetic Oil for all our vehicle services. Additionally, our OEM Certified Technicians will handle every aspect of your vehicle's service from start to finish.

What kind of filter do you use at Acura of Westchester? Acura of Westchester uses a genuine Acura oil filter for every oil change. All services done at Acura of Westchester are completed from start to finish by our OEM Certified Technicians

I need to have my car towed -- what do you recommend? If your vehicle has become inoperable, we can provide assistance with getting it towed to our service drive. Our service team will be happy to help with any repairs that may be necessary. Please call (914) 750-4356 to reach our service team, and they will be able to provide more information regarding the towing of your vehicle.

How does Maintaince Minder Work? The maintenance minder system is designed to display the engine oil life in the information display, indicating when it is necessary to change the engine oil and perform regular maintenance. Unlike traditional maintenance schedules found in owner's manuals, the maintenance minder system provides an engine oil life percentage that gradually decreases over time as the vehicle accrues mileage. The engine oil life begins at 100% with fresh oil and gradually reduces to 0%, indicating that the oil life has been exhausted.

Parts FAQ

I lost my key fob -- what should I do? To get a new key fob for your vehicle, simply contact our parts department at (914) 502-2523. They can order one for you if it's not in stock and schedule a time for programming it to your car. Please note that all Acura vehicles sold at Acura of Westchester come with two key fobs, so if one is lost, you can still operate your car.

My key fob battery is low - what should I do?You can visit our Parts Counter during normal hours without an appointment to get a new battery for your key fob. Our parts representatives will install it for you. Even if your key fob's battery dies, you can still unlock and start your vehicle by standing next to it and touching the handle.
